Fertility, Health and Wellbeing Testing

Who is it suitable for?

These test profiles are ideal if you:

- want to take control of your health

- plan to conceive in the future

- are actively trying to conceive

- are struggling to conceive

- using assisted reproduction like IVF

- are struggling with chronic conditions like PCOS or endometriosis

Common causes of sub-fertility and infertility that affect women include age, cancer treatment, lack of regular ovulation, blockage of the fallopian tubes, endometriosis, certain lifestyle factors such as stress, and sexually transmitted Infections (STI).

Age - As your age increases the number and quality or eggs in your ovaries decreases. This reduction can affect fertility as there are potentially fewer eggs that are suitable to be fertilised.

Menopause – Your biological clock starts ticking from the time you are born. Sooner or later your menstrual cycle will stop. This change is called the menopause, and in most instances, this occurs in your 40’s or 50’s but for some women this can be earlier.

Miscarriage - Unfortunately data from recorded miscarriages show more than 1 in 5 pregnancies ends in miscarriage.

NIPT - a major advancement in Antenatal Screening.

Our aim is to advise, inform, educate and support parents and their medical teams to provide the best care during pregnancy.

We offer a nationwide service for pregnant women supplying Non Invasive Prenatal Tests and other laboratory tests for both single and twin pregnancy.

Using the most advanced screening methods on a small maternal blood sample taken from the mothers arm. From 9* weeks our Non-Invasive Prenatal Tests are used to screen for the risk of genetic disorders such as Down’s Syndrome and other significant chromosome conditions.

Gender determination is optional.

This safe method of screening, does not replace your routine NHS Antenatal Care but is used to enhance the level of testing without adding risk to your baby.

The NHS Combined Screening has a high false positive rate when compared to NIPT, and if given a 'higher chance' result, you will be asked to undergo further testing, which is often a very worrying time for parents.

NIPT testing is the next recommended step before moving to diagnostic testing by Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) or Amniocentesis. Because both of these are invasive methods they come with increased risk of miscarriage.

Therefore many parents wish to opt straight for NIPT as the reliability of this screening method is recognized as superior to combined screening.

However, NIPT tests are NOT diagnostic tests and the results alone must never be used to make critical decisions, you should always consult your care provider to discuss your results.
